Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, also referred to as eyelid surgery, is a facial plastic surgery procedure designed to improve sagging skin of the upper eyelids and bags beneath the lower eyelids. Surgery can be performed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids or both. Blepharoplasty restores a more youthful appearance to the eye area and, in extreme cases, can even improve vision when excess upper eyelid skin interferes with the line of sight.
Botox® Cosmetic
Botox is a non-surgical injectable treatment that helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. This simple injection can be administered in Dr. Kontis office in order to create a more youthful appearance with natural results. Botox is not limited to the treatment of expression lines as it can also be used to treat migraines headaches, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms around the neck and eye areas.
Browlift
The browlift, also referred to as a forehead lift, is a facial plastic surgery procedure able to restore a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the brow and eye areas. This procedure can improve the appearance of drooping eyebrows, furrowed forehead lines and creases, frown lines and hooding over the eyes.
Chemical Peel
A chemical peel, also referred to as chemoexfoliation, is a cosmetic procedure that removes the top layers of the dermis in order to reveal new, younger looking skin. Chemical peels can produce a healthier complexion and are effective in treating facial wrinkles and pigmentation irregularities. They may also be effective in treating scars, particularly those caused by acne, and pre-cancerous skin growths. There are three types of peels that can be used to treat the skin: alphahydroxy acid, trichloroacetic acid, and phenol peels.
Facelift
The facelift, also referred to as rhytidectomy, is a facial plastic surgery procedure designed to improve the signs of aging in the lower face. Unlike newer, less-invasive techniques that address surface wrinkles alone, the facelift remains the best treatment for sagging skin including deep folds of the lower face, sagging cheeks, jowls, and a "turkey waddle" neck.
Facial Fillers
Facial fillers, also known as injectable fillers, may be used to restore fullness to the face which can diminish with age. Facial fillers can restore a more youthful appearance by plumping fine wrinkles and other skin depressions and enhancing the lips. There are a variety of injectable fillers available today including Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Artefill, Sculptra, Evolence, Elevess, Prevelle Silk, Cosmoplast, and Cosmoderm.
Facial Implants
Facial implants are often used to add prominence to certain facial features in order to improve facial balance and proportion. Facial implants can be used to enhance the cheekbones, jaw, or chin. This procedure can be combined with other surgeries like rhinoplasty or a facelift to fully enhance the face. A check implant can create higher cheekbones while a chin implant can result in a more prominent chin.
Laser Treatments
Lasers are commonly employed in plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures today. They can be used for a variety of procedures including skin rejuvenation and skin tightening, hair removal, and vascular therapies.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty, also referred to as ear surgery, is a surgical procedure which corrects prominent or distorted ears. Otoplasty can be performed following the full developmental growth of the ears, which is around the age of five. It can be particularly beneficial when performed on children as even a mild deformity of the ears can lead to teasing amongst one“s peers. Adult patients often undergo otoplasty in conjunction with other facial plastic surgery procedures.
Latisse™
LATISSE™ (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.
Revision Rhinoplasty
Revision Rhinoplasty, also referred as a secondary or tertiary rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure which can repair problems with the appearance and/or function of the nose resulting from a prior rhinoplasty procedure. Older rhinoplasty techniques often involved the removal of excessive cartilage which could result in impaired nasal function and nasal deformities. Revision rhinoplasty can address these problems.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, also referred to as nasal contouring, is a facial plastic surgery procedure which can reshape the nose and alleviate some breathing problems. During surgery, Dr. Kontis can increase or decrease the overall size of the nose, remove a hump, refine the tip, narrow the span of the nostrils, or make a change in the angle between the nose and upper lip. Rhinoplasty can improve the appearance of the nose for simple aesthetic purposes but it may also be used to correct birth defects, traumatic injury and some breathing problems.
